Does estrogen replacement therapy have a role in the management of postmenopausal overactive bladder?
Although postmenopausal hypoestrogenism has been related to abnormalities in the lower urinary tract, including stress urinary incontinence and overactive bladder, the evidence does not support the use of estrogen replacement therapy
Postmenopausal hypoestrogenism contributes to stress urinary incontinence and overactive bladder, and estrogen replacement therapy can be used to help control these and other lower urinary tract disorders in postmenopausal women
No clear relationship exists between estrogen levels and lower urinary tract disorders in menopause
